Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in Korea held a symposium about 'Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty and Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DSaEK & DMEK) Course' from February 13 and 14. What made the conference more special than ever was that the world's leading experts on the DSaEK & DMEK, Dr. Pankaj Gupta. M.D. at the Ohio University Hospital and Dr. David Chu. M.D. at the New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ) themselves demonstrated the DSaEK & DMEK at the Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. With 50 Korean eye specialists attending, the surgical skills of the two world's best’s surgeons captured their minds greatly. Dr. Cheon-Ki Joo, Dean of the Catholic University of Korea, College of Medicine said that 'I believe this very first live surgery conference on DSaEK & DMEK made the Korean surgeons stronger at their expertise.
