KIMA Participates in ‘2026 Medical Korea in Vietnam’… Showcasing the Competitiveness of Korean Healthcare in Vietnam

The event, held from September 10 to 11, was organized to strengthen healthcare cooperation between Korea and Vietnam and to support the global expansion of Korean medical institutions and the attraction of international patients.

A total of 52 representatives from 22 Korean medical institutions, healthcare companies, and organizations participated in the event. On the Vietnamese side, approximately 40 local organizations, including medical institutions, pharmaceutical, medical device and digital healthcare companies, and travel agencies, took part. Around 150 participants, including government officials and representatives from relevant organizations in both countries, attended the event.

KIMA participated alongside six member medical institutions: ▲Ewha Womans University Medical Center ▲Hangil Eye Hospital ▲Hanyang University Seoul Hospital ▲BSM Eye Clinic ▲Lienjang Plastic Surgery Clinic ▲ID Hospital, introducing their specialized medical services and capabilities in providing care for international patients.

The participating KIMA member institutions highlighted their expertise across a wide range of medical fields, including comprehensive medical care, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery. They also engaged with Vietnamese medical institutions, healthcare businesses, and international patient referral partners to promote the competitiveness of Korean healthcare.

Through one-on-one business meetings with local partners, the institutions explored opportunities for practical cooperation in areas such as international patient referrals, medical tourism, and medical technology exchange.

During the event, a total of 177 one-on-one business consultations were conducted between Korean participants and Vietnamese partners, while 12 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) were signed, demonstrating tangible progress in healthcare cooperation between the two countries.

Through its participation, KIMA strengthened its healthcare network in Vietnam while supporting its member institutions in identifying new opportunities for international patient attraction and medical cooperation through direct engagement with local partners.

As Vietnam continues to emerge as an important market with growing interest in Korean healthcare, KIMA aims to build on this opportunity to further promote the advanced medical technologies and international patient care capabilities of its member institutions and lay the groundwork for sustainable partnerships.
