Daejeon Sun Hospital Signs MOU with Daejeon Immigration Office KIMA logo  - Establishment of a healthcare service cooperation system for foreigners residing in the regionSun Hospital Foundation (Chairman Sun Doo-hoon) and Daejeon Sun Hospital (President Nam Sun-woo) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Daejeon Immigration Office (Head Im Eun-jin) of the Ministry of Justice to provide medical support to foreigners residing in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do Province and foreigners detained by the Daejeon Immigration Office.The MOU, aimed at providing medical services in a professional and prompt manner to the target demographic, was signed in time for the 15th Together Day on May 20. ※ Together Day (annually on May 20): A day designated to create a social environment in which Korean citizens and foreigners residing in Korea can live together while respecting each other’s culture and traditions in accordance with Article 19 of the Framework Act on Treatment of Foreigners Residing in the Republic of Korea. Eight officials from both sides, including Division Director Kim Jong-ak and Nursing Bureau Director Kim Young-im from Sun General Hospital and Head Im Eun-jin and General Director Son Heung-gi from the Management Division of Daejeon Immigration Office, attended the MOU signing ceremony. The two entities plan on pursuing various joint programs and providing support to help foreigners residing in Korea integrate into Korean society. At the signing ceremony, a decision was made to establish a medical service cooperation system for foreigners residing in Daejeon and those detained by the immigration office, offering prompt treatment to any emergency patients and general medical support to foreigners residing in the region and providing assistance to foreigners living in Korea with integrating into Korean society. Im Eun-jin, the head of Daejeon Immigration Office, said, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the officials of Sun Hospital Foundation for promising to provide high-quality medical services to foreign residents and foreigners detained by our office. This will be an invaluable gift for foreign residents in time for the 15th Together Day this year.” In response, Sun General Hospital Division Director Kim Jong-ak said, “It is a great pleasure for us to be able to help foreigners residing in Daejeon and detained foreigners based on the MOU.
