HanGil Eye Hospital (Led by Dr. Jun-Hong Son) recently acquired KAHF (Korean Accreditation Program for Hospitals Serving Foreign Patients) from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. It has objectively proven its medical system in the level of international standardization by succeeding in designation for the third time following 2017 and 2019.
The ‘Korean Accreditation Program for Hospitals Serving Foreign Patients’ is an accreditation system supervised by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to support attracting foreign patients and to enhance medical service quality and reliability.
After receiving an application from a desired medical institution, it evaluates about 130 items in two areas: ▲ Specialized System for Foreign Patients and ▲Patient Safety System.
There are only 2 medical institutions (HanGil Eye Hospital and JK Plastic Surgery Clinic), which were confirmed as the ‘Korean Accreditation Program for Hospitals Serving Foreign Patients’ on the 3rd year after passing this evaluation. HanGil Eye Hospital is the only hospital, which belongs to the category of general hospitals or hospitals.
HanGil Eye Hospital, the only ophthalmic hospital in Incheon, is widely known in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
The level of patient satisfaction is high with systematic medical services and customized services for foreign patients. Based on this, HanGil Eye Hospital earned several domestic certifications related to foreign patients.
In addition, it was selected as the ‘International Eye Hospital of the Year’ at ‘Medical Travel Awards 2019’, an international medical tourism event held in Berlin, Germany in 2019.
“We will continue to improve our services so that foreign patients can receive treatment without inconvenience whether it is the era of COVID-19 or not,” said Dr. Jun-hong Son, Director of HanGil Eye Hospital.
