A medical delegation from Ewha Womans University Medical Center visited Uzbekistan from 21 to 28 February by invitation of the ministry of health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. They tried to deliver a successful case of characterization in woman cancer field and participated in diverse medical volunteer activities. Dr. Nam-sun Paik, director of the Ewha Womans University Cancer Center performed a total of 15 surgical procedures including breast and thyroid cancer for Uzbekistani female cancer patients. Dr. Paik also met with Laziz Tuychiev, deputy minister of health of Uzbekistan, and signed an agreement to provide consulting services about establishment of national women hospital. Dr. Paik said “We continue to export our medical technologies and support foundation of state-run female hospital by providing accumulated know-how in terms of woman’s cancer.”
