Asan Medical Center\'s Success on Curing Terminal Stage of Liver Cirrhosis

Israel is one of the most countries for Russian and European medical tourists. The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center in Israel, one of the best hospitals in the world, has made one of ther patients transferred to Asan Medical Center in South Korea in January 2016. Mr. Hajaz Shalom, a 69 year-old Israeli man was suffering from terminal stage of liver cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B. Despite of all the effort from The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, his physical state had went bad. The only hope for him was liver transplant surgery as soon as possible.

The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center decided to ask Asan Medical Center, Korea to perform liver transplant surgery for him. Professor Richard Nakash M.D at The Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center directly wrote an email to Professor Seung-Kyu Lee M.D. at Asan Medical Center for his surgery. Eventually, Mr. Shalom got discharged from Asan Medical Center on February 15th after having received liver transplantation from his son's living donor in January 26th. Mr. Shalom cried and thanked medical staff in Asan Medical Center for saving his life by their wonderful teamwork and medicine.
