Yonsei University Severance Hospital not only celebrated South Korea's 70th anniversary of Liberation Day but happy news that they are allowed to build a Chinese version of Severance Hospital in Qingdao, China. What makes it more special is that it will be the first attempt to build one of the biggest general hospitals abroad for Koreans. Namsik Chung, M.D., Ph.D, President & CEO, Yonsei University Health System, made a partnership basic agreement with Hiking Group, China on 10th July, 2015. They agreed that each company will own a 50 percent stake in the new joint venture and will construct a general hospital with a thousand beds in Laoshan District International Ecological Healthy City, which is currently being developed by Hiking Group. It is expected that this newly built Qingdao Severance General Hospital will show high profit due to high population in Qingdao city and Santung Province.
