The academy, sponsored by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), opened last May with the purpose of introducing Korea’s exceptional medical technology to the world and expanding the global network in the health service sector. The international medical staff who participated in the academy completed their two-month long course with a graduation ceremony held at the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Two medical specialists in neurology (Iuliia Solodovnikova / completed course on June 19) and anesthesiology (Luwih Bisono) participated in courses on the treatments for apoplexy and epilepsy, specialized diseases treated by the Center for Neurology at the Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital and courses on anesthetic techniques and pain treatment respectively. The graduates of the Academy expressed their satisfaction with the effective curriculum devised by Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital for international medical staff. They strongly agreed that the clinical courses, consisting of lectures, conferences, journal readings, as well as the opportunities to observe the treatments and operations, will benefit not only themselves, but also the medical field of their home countries.
