Seoul National University Bundang Hospital to Export Medical IT Solution to Saudi Arabia KIMA logo The Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (President: Cheol-Hee Lee) announced in July 20 that the SNUBH and Health Connect signed an exports deal with one of the biggest hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNG-HA) in Saudi Arabia. Through this deal, the SNUBH will be exporting the “MNGHA Care,” a Personal Health Records (PHRs) solution for hospitals. This deal, signed after a deal with Health Connect for the supply of kiosks for patients and staff at Saudi Arabia, is another opportunity for Korean medical IT solutions to expand its market in the Middle East. The MNGHA Care is a system which enables patients to freely manage their personal health records and check their medical records by using their mobile phones or PCs. By providing the medical staff with medical information regularly updated by the patients themselves, the MNGHA care also helps doctors make accurate diagnoses and provide appropriate medical service to patients. By tapping on the “Medical Record” menu, users of MNGHA Care have access to their medical history, test results, medication, appointments, and information for refilling their prescription. The “My Health” menu provides you with information on your exercise drills, weight, blood pressure and blood sugar. The MNGHA Care has additional options ranging from “Self Diagnosis,” through which you can check your performance status and degree of pain, to the “Medication Alarm” which alerts the time for your medication. The “Medication Refill” function, in particular, helps patients get prescriptions for the same medication they were prescribed with when they had first visited the doctor’s office without additional visits to the hospital. This function is activated only with consultation and consent of the doctor. The Director of the Medical Information Center at the SNUBH, Dr. Hee Hwang, who is also in charge of the Saudi exports deal, said that “The MNGHA Care is based on ‘HEALTH4U,’ a PHR solution adopted by the SNUBH in 2013.” Dr. Hwang added that “Its effectiveness and convenience has already been confirmed.” The MNGHA Care will start its mobile service in August and complete its distribution this November. The solution is expected to go through further development to make it compatible with other medical devices, thereby providing an enhanced medical service to hospitals in Saudi Arabia. +82-43-713-8999, 8998, 8997 kimakorea@khidi.or.kr
