Han Gil Eye Hospital introduces \'SmilePRO,\' with procedural implementation in full swing

Han Gil Eye Hospital (Dr. Jin Yeong Choi, Director) recently introduced 'Smile PRO,' a further advancement on the third-generation correction surgery Smile and began a full-scale implementation of the procedure.

Currently, there are only 13 medical institutions in Korea that have implemented SmilePRO, and Han Gil Eye Hospital is the only institution in Incheon.

The special feature of SmilePRO is that the laser irradiation time has been shortened to less than 10 seconds while maintaining the strength of the previous Smile. This enables a fast recovery and strong resistance to external impacts.

It has reduced the irradiation time for vision correction surgery, which previously was around 25 seconds, by more than half. This is expected to significantly improve customer satisfaction by ▲reducing the psychological burden on patients and ▲improving the quality of vision.

It is necessary to minimize eye movements during vision correction surgery. For this purpose, the eye fixation system of the equipment is activated, including the wearing of an eyelid speculum (an instrument that fixes the eyeball).

Patients are also instructed to stare at one fixed spot and not move their eyeballs as a pre-operative precaution, and a substantial number find this burdensome.

The reduced laser irradiation time of SmilePRO reduces the rate of phenomenon of 'loosening of the eye fixation system,' thereby reducing the psychological burden on the patient.

The risk of infection is also reduced by minimizing the time spent touching the cornea, and functions such as eye movement detection and compensation for astigmatism axis rotation, etc., have become more sophisticated and recovery has become faster in comparison to conventional vision correction surgery.

Dr. Beom Jin Cho, the Director of the Treatment Department, stated that, "We decided to introduce VISUMAX 800 in order to provide higher quality vision correction including improved medical quality and patient satisfaction, although the burden of the investment needed was substantial."
