Wooridul Spine Hospital announced on June 10, that Dr. Sang-Ho Lee, chairman of Wooridul Spine Hospital, represented Korea at the Healthcare Facilities Asia 2015 held in Singapore and gave a presentation on Korea’s progress in spinal surgery and global medical tourism. Invited at the event as a representative of Korea, Dr. Lee gave a thorough presentation on the history, know-how and progress of spinal surgery in Korea, which is now a central field in medical tourism.
Distinguished medical professionals from leading Asian hospitals participated in this conference including Shigemi Kitahara, President of Japan’s Kitahara International Hospital, Hong Fung, the executive director of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Medical Centre, Su Lin Chong, the managing director of the Prince Court Medical Center and Ming-Tsan Lin, the vice superintendent of the National Taiwan University Hospital.
Wooridul Spine Hospital is well-known for its minimally invasive disk surgery which uses the latest technology, such as the endoscope or laser, to remove the problematic disks while leaving the normal disk tissues, bones, muscles, joints and ligament intact. According to the hospital, the surgery leaves almost no scars, ensures rapid recovery and prevents relapse, complications and aftereffects of the disease.
Wooridul Spine Hospital also runs training programs including the International MISS Course and a long-term training program for spine specialists. 350 spine specialists from 28 countries including the U.S., the U.K., China and Japan, have participated in Wooridul’s programs and learned about the minimally invasive spinal treatment.
