Asan Medical Center

Asan Medical Center is Korea’s largest hospital, with 2,446 beds. As of 2025, it treats an average of 11,377 outpatients daily and 654,536 inpatients annually, while performing 52,838 surgeries each year. The hospital is internationally recognized for its excellence in cancer treatment, organ transplantation, and cardiovascular care, and operates three specialty hospitals and more than 50 specialized centers. It also cares for more than 20,000 international patients annually and has been ranked as Korea’s top hospital for seven consecutive years by U.S. Newsweek.

-International Healthcare Center

Asan Medical Center serves as a quaternary care hospital that not only treats patients in Korea but also provides last resort treatment options for critically ill patients from around the world. Each year, more than 20,000 international patients from over 100 countries, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Mongolia, visit Asan Medical Center to receive treatment for severe conditions such as cancer, organ transplantation, and heart disease.

The International Healthcare Centerat Asan Medical Center supports foreign patients from the moment they arrive at Asan Medical Center until they return to their home countries, providing not only medical care but also a wide range of patient support services. The center operates language coordinators for Arabic, Mongolian, Russian, and other languages to ensure smooth communication throughout the care process. For inpatients, meals are provided in both Western and Middle Eastern styles as hospital meals. To better accommodate a large number of patients and accompanying family members from the Middle East, Asan Medical Center has also established separate prayer rooms and rest areas for men and women. In addition, a post treatment follow up system for Middle Eastern patients has been implemented, enabling continued coordinated care and ongoing health monitoring even after patients return to their home countries.
