Over 20 Visitors Arrive, Including Prominent Hong Kong Celebrity
Amidst rising expectations of rejuvenating the international medical tourism market, which has stagnated due to COVID-19, Korea's premier health resort, Cheju Halla General Hospital(THE WE, CEO Kim Sung-soo), has opened an agency in Hong Kong. In August, the resort successfully attracted a delegation of approximately 20 VIPs from Hong Kong, including a renowned celebrity, marking its vigorous entry into the international medical tourism sector.
In July, THE WE Hotel signed an exclusive agency contract with Hong Kong Global Unique Company (香港禧玥国际公司) in Hong Kong, and subsequently held an opening ceremony and promotional events. This medical tourism familiarization tour is one initial outcome of those efforts. Notably, the famed Hong Kong actor Matthew Ko (高鈞賢, male, 39 years old) was part of the delegation, garnering significant attention. Active in various movies and TV programs since 2006, Ko is a prominent actor and broadcaster. He plans to participate actively in promotional activities targeting both Hong Kong and mainland China.
During their visit, the delegation stayed at the health resort THE WE for a week. They indulged in the resort's main programs, which include liquid biopsies at the Health Promotion Center, skincare at the Beauty Center, hydrotherapy using natural volcanic rock water at the Wellness Center, and forest experiences. They thoroughly enjoyed the high-quality offerings of the luxury health resort.
Matthew Ko commented, "The liquid biopsy, which is simpler and has more advantages than regular hospital tissue tests, is appealing enough to recommend to those around me. Experiencing hydrotherapy using natural volcanic rock water allowed me to understand the concept of 'water and energy.'" He added, "I will actively promote this to many interested in medical tourism in China."
Representatives of the Hong Kong Global Unique Company, including its CEO and other VIP guests, also expressed their admiration, calling the resort "the best hotel with a system that caters to health through its unparalleled medical services and nature's blessings." They pledged, "We will actively introduce and promote THE WE's differentiated and high-quality healthcare programs in the medical tourism market of Hong Kong and mainland China."
