Sun Medical Center Announces Export of K Medical System to Bali, Indonesia KIMA logo  Sun Healthcare International (SHI) has entered into a contract to establish and manage Ngurah Rai & Sun Medical Center Aesthetic Wellness Bali (Bali Hospital) in Bali, Indonesia. This agreement, signed in Jakarta, assigns SHI and Sun Medical Center the comprehensive responsibility for establishing and operating the hospital and educating Indonesian medical professionals as part of a 10-year project with the Indonesian Ministry of Health. Despite a population of 270 million, Indonesia has only 78,000 physicians and slightly over 2,800 medical institutions of hospital grade (as of 2019). This indicates a substantial deficiency in the quantity and quality of medical services. To address these issues and advance national healthcare, the Indonesian government previously announced the Bali Sanur Medical and Wellness Tourism Special Economic Zone, a renowned tourist destination in Bali. Indonesia has expressed considerable admiration for South Korea's achievements in reducing severe illnesses and subsequent medical expenses. It has also shown significant interest in the Korean national health screening system. As a result, in 2015, the Indonesian government chose to collaborate with Daejeon Sun Hospital, which had previously exported its advanced diagnostic system and medical services to Belarus in Eastern Europe. For this purpose, following consultations with the Indonesian government, Sun Hospital formally signed an MOU at Medical Korea last April, attended by the health ministers of both countries. The upcoming Bali Hospital will focus on medical examinations and will offer cutting-edge K-MEDI services, including dentistry, dermatological cosmetic procedures, telemedicine, sleep clinics, physical exercise therapy, and food therapy.The overseas hospital system exported by Sun Medical Center is expected to significantly promote the excellence of Korean medical services to the international community.Seon Seung-hoon, the Medical Director of Sun Medical Center, stated, "Our entry into Indonesia is a testament to the international recognition of South Korea's outstanding medical system."
