Sejong Hospital Group and Medical AI to Operate Korea’s First ECG Reading Center  On March 28, the Sejong Hospital Group (Bucheon Sejong Hospital, Incheon Sejong Hospital, and Bucheon Municipal Welfare Facility for the Elderly; President Park Jin-sik) and Medical AI (CEO Park Sang-hyeon), a spin-off from the Sejong Hospital Group, announced their plans to operate the first electrocardiogram reading center in Korea. The Sejong Hospital Group has been conducting research and development (R&D) projects on big data and AI technology and platforms with the AI and Big Data Division playing a leading role, and Medical AI has also been making noteworthy achievements in developing AI related to the heart. The two parties are testing their technology in connection with all the ECG devices used in Korea. In this phase of the project, they are offering free ECG reading services, where a cardiologist and a critical care emergency medicine specialist immediately analyze the data automatically sent from hospitals that require ECG analysis and send the results back with their signatures.The medical institutions participating in the test phase are quite diverse, and they include geriatric hospitals, internal medicine and surgical clinics, specialized hospitals, obstetrics and gynecology hospitals, and orthopedic hospitals, and there are a growing number of hospitals requesting the service.Kwon Jun-myeong, head of the AI and Big Data Division at Sejong Hospital (and technical director at Medical AI) said, “When this service is commercialized, it will be possible to improve access to ECG reading and convenience for workers and prevent errors or omissions in results.
