Betylia Adang (age:64) is rescued and received emergency treatment by Kkottongnae monks when they dispatched to Haiti in 2013. Afterwards, she got a cosmetic surgery for treatment in Korea. Three years ago, she had lived at a garbage dump next to the entrance of a Haitian National Hospital and had only been waiting to die. Fortunately she was admitted to the Kkottongnae in Haiti and treated for injuries in the intensive care unit of the facility. However, her skin became stiff and her neck could not be bent, so she visited Korea with a nun, Eunhee Lee (Simon) and underwent a surgery for 8 hours at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. Professor Seok-ho Moon (Peter), a plastic surgery surgeon who performed the surgery, said, 'The skin of the hardened neck was removed and it is grafted on from the skin of the buttocks.“ He added, ”She seems to be able to return to her homeland if she gets two more weeks of treatment“, after a successful operation.
