Academic Background and Work Experience
Dr. Jin Kyun Park is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Seoul National University hospital. He obtained his MD degree from University of Heidelberg (Ruprecht Karls University) in Heidelberg, Germany. He completed a 2-year postdoctoral research fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, and Emory University, Atlanta, GA, USA. Subsequently, Dr. Park received his Internal Medicine training at University of Florida, and trained in Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University. In 2012, he joined the faculty in the Division of Rheumatology at Seoul National University Hospital. Dr. Park’s research is focused on mechanisms of systemic autoimmune diseases, particularly the role of monocytes in disease manifestations. He sees patients with diverse autoimmune and rheumatic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren’s disease, polymyositis, dermatomyositis, systemic sclerosis and vasculitis as well as non-inflammatory joint and muscle pain.
