The Patient Experience Evaluation, launched in 2017, evaluates whether a patient has received medical services that suited their individual preferences, needs, and values ​​while in the hospital. This was the third time the evaluation was carried out, following the first (August 2018) and second (July 2020) surveys.58,297 patients over the age of 19 admitted to 45 tertiary hospitals and 314 general hospitals between May and November 2021 participated in the evaluation. Six areas were evaluated: nurses; doctors; drug administration and treatment process; hospital environment; guarantee of patient rights; and overall evaluation.Dankook University Hospital scored an average of 88.86 points in the six areas, placing it well above the national average of 82.46 points. It ranked fourth among tertiary hospitals nationwide and second in the Daejeon-Chungcheong region, which was a remarkable improvement from the results of the second Patient Experience Evaluation. In the nurse evaluation area, in particular, it scored 92.33 points, which far exceeded the national average. High scores were also recorded in the doctor (87.52 points), drug administration and treatment process (89.89 points), and hospital environment (90.26 points) evaluation areas, and a high level of overall patient satisfaction was reported in relation to respect and kindness toward patients, communication with medical staff, and the hospital environment. “This evaluation is a testament to the fruit of the efforts of all members of our hospital to take a giant step forward as a patient-centric hospital, and it is even more meaningful in that inpatients directly experienced and evaluated them,” said Lee Myung-yong, the President of Dankook University Hospital, before adding, “I’d like to express my gratitude to the faculty and staff for their efforts to receive good scores.
