Hangil Eye Hospital was nominated as 'International Eye Clinic of the Year' at an international medical travel event in Europe. Hangil Eye Hospital won ‘International Eye Clinic of the Year’ at Medical Travel Awards 2019 in Berlin, Germany. It was the only one Korean hospital there. The event is one of the annual IMTJ summit programs organized by International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) in the United Kingdoms, which is well-known in the field of medical tourism. In 2019, 250 medical service specialists from 40 different countries joined this event.
Hangil Eye Hospital was listed on the final nominees of the ‘International Eye Clinic of the Year’ of the medical and wellness category, and awarded the best prize after competing against the world-renowned Moorfield Eye Hospital (UAE) and Prince Court Medical Centre (Malaysia).Chief Director Junhong Sohn said, “We are delighted to become the winner, outdoing the globally renowned eye hospitals.” Also, he said stressing “We will continue to enhance the quality of the medical service and upgrade the medical facilities so that Hangil Eye Hospital has nothing short as the best eye specialist in the world.'Additionally, Hangil Eye Hospital, as an eye specialist, performs more than 6,000 cataract surgeries and takes care of more than 210,000 patients annually. Also, it was designated as ‘Medical Institute for Foreign Patients’ by Ministry of Health and Welfare and as 'Leading Medical Institution for Foreign Patients' by the City of Incheon.
