Professor Lee, Byung-Ro, an ophthalmologist of Hanyang University Hospital, Seoul won the ‘Honor Award’ at the American Society of Retina Specialists’ (ASRS) 33rd Annual Meeting held in Vienna, Austria, from 11 to 14 July.
A number of ASRS members annually receive the Honor Award after an evaluation of their academic activity, career, and contribution. Unsurprisingly, Professor Lee, Byung-Ro was one of the winning members in 2015.
He is known to have won multiple kinds of academic awards in Korea, and now overseas. He received the 2008 Rhett Buckler Award at the Annual American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS). This award is given to only one retina surgeon each year for the best surgical video. His video was selected by a panel of judges according to originality, educational content, script, audiovisual quality and effectiveness.
