Cheju Halla General Hospital, Sungho Shinn, head of cardiothoracic surgery department at Cheju Halla General Hospital, has saved all six patients from a high-risk group of ruptured the thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm.

Sungho Shinn, head of cardiothoracic surgery department at Cheju Halla General Hospital welcomed Mr. Song, who recently recovered from emergency surgery for a ruptured aorticarch aneurysm. Mr. Song, who was suffering from aftereffects from hepatocirrhosis, visited the emergency room in mid-March due to hemoptysis and low blood pressure. Diagnosis has shown that a hypovolemic shock caused by aortic arch aneurysm ruptured and a large amount of hemothorax.Dr.Shinn’s team immediately operated an emergency Stent-graft Insertion and a Thoracostomy in Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm.However, the active pulmonary tuberculosis got worsened which found after the operation, so had to stay in an intensive care unit with a joint treatment from a pulmonary specialist.Mr. Song was released from the hospital after recovering his health without any complications in two months.Dr.Shinn was successfully treated with intra-aortic Stent-graft for six patients with a high-risk group of ruptured the thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm, who had a very high risk of death within a year after starting treatment in March last year. The results of these treatments for ruptured the thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm are known to be comparable to large hospitals in large cities such as Seoul.
