Pusan National University Hospital said cardiac rehabilitation is necessary
The heart is a muscle, pumping blood around your body. The right side of the heart pumps blood to your lungs, where it gets ride of carbon dioxide and replenish oxygen. The left side of the heart pumps oxygen-rich blood to the rest of your whole body, including organs and muscle. Therefore, patients with heart disease may experience △ pain or discomfort in the chest, neck, jaw, arm or other parts of the body due to lack of blood flow; △ breathing difficulty or excessive fatigue during rest and light exercise; △ dizziness or syncope; △ paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea; △ ankle edema; △ heart palpitations (pounding or racing) and heart murmurs; △ intermittent claudication (tight or squeezing pain in the calf), etc. Cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive treatment to prevent recurrence by helping people with heart disease recover from weakened cardiopulmonary function and motor function. It includes each individual’s education about heart disease and current heart condition, wrong lifestyle modification, mental counseling, athletic performance assessment and personalized exercise prescription.
