Mediplex Sejong Hospital, the only heart-specialized hospital in Korea, is under contract to help Shenzhen Sun Yat-sen Cardiovascular Hospital, which operates about 90% of adult cardiac patients in Shenzhen, design new international cardiology hospital. Sejong has provided consulting and management services regarding its advanced medical system and surgical skills. This cooperation are expected to boost the diplomatic relations between Korea and China, which have been frozen since the THAAD missile defense system was deployed in South Korea. Sejong Hospital is widely considered the blueprint for the international heart hospital by remodeling the Shenzhen hospital. JinSik Park, executive director of Mediplex Sejong Hospital, said Shenzhen has the potential to develop into a global hub with a floating population of 10 million and the resident population of 12 million.“After receiving approval of the construction of the international hospital by the end of this year, perhaps by early next year, we will be able to begin remodeling the hospital building and look forward to its early opening,” he added.
